That scene is beautiful though. It's really a great metaphor for life and how little things are beautiful despite our hardships, like how his character's father is abusive and homophobic.

It's great because it's relatable, and hilarious but also quite deep at times.

The scene where Lester gets stoned in the drivethru and lip syncs American Woman is so damn funny.

I love the whole neighbor story-arc too where you think he's a creeper but learn he's actually quite interesting and really open-minded and smart.

I've shown it to all my friends and everyone has loved it. It's just perfection.

And that's why you hate this movie so much, because it's a movie about a middle aged man having a mid-life crisis, where he can't stand his boring wife and stupid two story house and good paying career full of annoying assholes. He decides to spend his ample enough savings on a hot car he's always wanted that he smokes weed in and tells his wife to go back to the cool girl who used to flash him for fun.

This is a movie about a man who has a comfortable, prosperous life, and his journey to LOVE LIFE AGAIN. It's a deep wake up call to all the parents and 20somethings out there who succeed but aren't satisfied. For us assholes who think getting Baja Blast once in a while is bliss, this movie has nothing to offer except Thora Birch's chubby tits.
