No. 1 was a good start even if the end was weak. 2 has a good movie somewhere in it, but there's too much going on thematically and the universe building is too tangential. 3 could have been good if Shane Black actually gave a shit about Iron Man and didn't include shitty cardboard suits that run on car batteries and and the Mandarin plot twist.

I honestly don't understand all the hate for IR3 (IR2 is shit tho). For my money IR3 is in Marvel's top 3 easily, along with The Avengers and GoTG vol. 1.
On the other hand I do have unpopular opinions on marvel movies, like I really think that winter soldier is overrated as fuck. It's not a bad movie by any means, but it's definitely doesn't deserve the universal high praise it got.

It's a fun movie with creative set pieces, engaging action scenes and witty banter.
Compare to any other marvel movie that isn't guardians of the galaxy, this movie is one of the few marvel movies that isn't dull forgettable predictable mess.
Character stuff was great, fight in the town was one of the best marvel action sequences.. The kid was ok.
As for Mandarin twist, who gives a fact about Mandarin in the first place? The twist was actually clever, unexpected and funny. People only hate it because they pretend that their precious favorite villain is ruined while the fact is that no one gives a fuck about that racial stereotype b grade joke of a villain.

I was expecting IR3 to be an absolute shitter after reading a summary, turned out it was rather enjoyable despite the shortcomings. The movie taking 30 minutes to actually start was a bummer though. Certainly an improvement over 2.
