Although not perfect, still one of best mummy movies. Not as clumsy as Hammer productions, but lacks cheezness of Sommers 1999 one or original Boris Karloff aura. Still better than dozens of mummy movies that were made in last 80 years.

I guess these critics who panned it haven't seen 'masterpieces' like "Tale of Mummy[1998]", "Blood from Mummy Tomb[1971]", "Mummy Lives[1993]" or other random titled mummy movies (Mummy Tomb[1942], Mummy Ghost[1944], Mummy Curse[1944], etc etc) too.

doesnt, but still makes it one of actually better mummy movies. Honestly top5, right next to 1932 original, 1999 sommers commedy 1959 Hammer remake and "Mummy Hand" from 1940. Literally all others are bad shits, so if You look for "relative" good mummy movies you are pretty much stuck with these 5. Thats kinda sad, in 80 years on-screen history of this egyptian monster, there are literally so little movies and only tiny amount of them is actually ok. So in short, bad movie overall, but pretty good mummy movie.
