I'm surprised YT hasn't come down on all those streams. They're all almost exclusively copyrighted stuff. Then again YT is only a success due to violating copyright back before the Viacom lawsuit so maybe they know what they're doing.

can these youtube channels broadcast copyrighted material or does youtube strictly control them as well?

They hide behind the law, which gives them safety from being sued as illegal publishers as long as they take down the copyrighted stuff when the owners complain.

The real question is why these giant corps. aren't tracking this stuff better. There's a push on to change this law so they can sue people like YouTube, which was a large reason why the Internet exploded so much in the US, while other countries which continued to allow lawsuits didn't have proportional growth. So this would be a bad thing.
