Kong was what I wanted Godzilla to be- lots monsters fighting front and center and humans just barely hanging on by the skin of their teeth.

I'm almost positive that one soldiers kid in the Godzilla movie had more screentime than the movies namesake. Thinking of the airport scene in Godzilla and how it cut straightaway from the oncoming fight to the kid still ticks me off.

Godzilla in 14 was not the best Godzilla and they are trying to retcon the tone of the series with Kong going forward so while Kong will probably grow to like two hundred I expect Godzilla will also shrink because he was absurdly big in the last one

I'm not a big fan of the new Godzilla design either, in my opinion they should have just done a mix of CGI and suit and used the 90's Godzilla design which is the best compromise between realistic and campy
