Out of those two? Miyazaki's flims have a strong emothiona core, but Tomino's movies have giant robots. So Tomino.

Takahata
Miyazaki creates well-animated fanciful basic stories with face-value messages.
Tomino kills em all and robots and "fuck it nothing matters then you die", and though the animation quality usually suffers (Gundam 1979, Dougram) he has a special grasp of tension and despair that resonates through his characters.
Honestly, Tomino wins. Miyazaki is a dinosaur stuck trying to fellate Walt Disney while Tomino grasps that he is a relic of a past age of animation.
>all of these people hating Miyazaki
You are a fool if you think Miyazaki is terrible

They are very different but I think I admire Tomino more. He's a man with very specific visions and he never really compromises. He's not for everyone but I can appreciate what he does.
