They couldn't have picked a better photo to do it with. The key light from the left and the yellow celling light from the right match up perfectly with how Lucy is lit. There is even pretty consistent edge diffusion and an attempt at blending the motion blur affecting MacLachlan's right side, not to mention the nice noise effect on the whole image which gives it a uniform feeling. They should have hired this person to do the fake photos of Mr C in the series.

It's not procedural for sure.

You can watch whole season 1, it's only 8 episodes, pretty comfy stuff, but looks a little clumsy by todays standards.

Season 2 is a difficult one, because big part of the season is a filler episodes with filler storylines that goes from nowhere to nowhere. But still it's probably better to watch it whole.

Then you watch Fire Walk With Me, which is a prequel movie. It has different tone, but it adds much more substance to the central conflict of the show. There is two ways to watch it:
- Original cut made by David Lynch, many people prefer it because it focused more on Laura Palmer
- Fan edit by Q2 which includes hour and half of scenes that were cut. Many of them are essential to the whole experience. These scenes are canon, but Lynch didn't want to make another cut of the movie, so it goes as special feature called "Missing Pieces" on DVD/Blu-ray. Fan-edit just incorporated them in the movie in reasonable order.

As of me, I begin to watch Twin Peaks for the first time several month ago. I didn't get it until watching third episode. Season 2 was pretty hard to watch, it took me a month or even more to finish it. Episodes made by Lynch were good though.

After that I watche fan-edit of FWWM and it was quiet good, I didn't even noticed that it was 3 and a half hour long. Pretty good stuff.

I started season 3 when it had only 7 episodes aired and I binge-watched them. Personally I love it, but a lot of people, including some old school fans, just hate it, because it's radically different from original series and movie. But there is nothing like it on TV. Every modern "weird" TV show has some DNA of old Twin Peaks in it, but new Twin Peaks is a pinnacle of weird television, new standard.
