Why did Scorsese cast himself as an angry cuckold?
I actually think he could have been a great actor if he really wanted to be, he was legitimately good in Taxi Driver and it's a shame he never tried it again.

wasn't it all in Travis's racist imagination?

>it was all a le dream
>xxXXXDDDD
He probably decided that if he was going to be a bit character in his movie, he ought to be a bit comedic character. The whole scene is very funny.

>violent 1970s New York City was all a figment of Travis' racist imagination.
You libtards will go to the extreme with your revisionism.

He was comfy in Kurosawas Dreams
The actor for the part actually didn't turn up that day, so Scorsese filled in for him. There is a great interview about the experience with Martin himself where he gives an insight into just how good Rob De Niro was in his prime at playing off his co-stars- can't find the link tho

did people not use deodorants in the 70s?

shame would like to hear that. de niro is so interesting to me, his decline or whatever it is and then the thought creeping up of "how good was he to begin with?", then going "well, damn, i enjoy all his early stuff, i enjoy HIM, he's great". interesting actor

highly intelligent men are cuckolds. It is a known fact.
