>"The blade is in your aorta, you pull it out, you bleed, and you will die"
That's not how the aorta fucking works. 100% of the blood of your circulatory system has to go through the fucking aorta. If it is blocked, you are fucking dead, if half of it is cut open, you are dead, because it doesn't have much structural resistance to keep the blood from just bursting out since it's so close to your heart. The aorta is in fact so sensitive and fragile that the most common damage to the aorta is car crashes because the sheer force of the sudden stop can tear it open on your insides.

>"100% of the blood of your circulatory system has to go through the fucking aorta. If it is blocked, you are fucking dead"

Also

>because it doesn't have much structural resistance to keep the blood from just bursting out
takes into consideration that the knife is there. The Aorta is not some arm artery, it's larger than a fucking thumb.
>>
>>84438746

There was that time when I realised what was happening on tv was just pixels changing color from digital signals stored on ultimately analogue devices, transistors as ons or offs and really the whole experience of the film just provoked emotions rather than them being real. I started thinking about whether provoked fake emotions are real emotion or not.

And that's why I threw my TV out the window.

I went outside and all I could see was people watching TVs through the windows of their home and starting thinking isn't it convenient that the world would be round... It's like were trapped and can't escape. The planet is like a prison... Got me thinking about digital signals and analogue storage and DNA and then that's when I broke out of the matrix.

They mention something about an alien ship's weapon systems having an energy of ~5 megajoules, which pales in comparison to the muzzle energy of most powerful cannon ever fitted to a real-life tank (~13.5 megajoules). I like the idea of a sci-fi energy weapon system from 300 years in the future being less than half as powerful as a cannon fitted to a tank over 50 years ago.

Story time, faggots. My dad was going to be in the army before his brother shot him in the chest. Being 19 year old farm retards from rural Australia, they were both playing 'quick draw mcgraw' with .22s. Unbeknownst to them, their other brother had used one of the .22's earlier in the day and there was still apparently a round in the chamber. End result being, didn't matter how fast Dad was on the draw, his brother won because his gun was fucking loaded. They were sitting in chairs facing each other about 1-2m away, so when that .22 went off, the bullet was travelling at pretty much max velocity. Dad found out later that the entry went something like this:

>bullet pierces chest muscle
>deflects off upper side of rib
>passes through chest cavity
>grazes aorta and pierces lung
>hits vertebra
>basically fucking ping-ponged around inside

Pretty fucking quickly, they both realize what's happened. Dad's wearing a singlet and there's a metre-long squirt of blood shooting straight out of the material, like a puncture in a garden hose.
That's exactly how he described it to me. The two of them get in the truck, his borther drives him to the hospital, where Dad passes out after kicking the paramedic who tried to stick him with a needle, and woke up a couple of days later with a tube pumping pus out of his lung into a bucket beside the bed. Needless to say, he didn't join the army. He made a full recovery and continued playing football for years afterwards though. He never found out how large the hole in his aorta actually was, but from the description of the blood squirt I'd guess that it was basically just a pinprick, less than half a millimeter wide, but with a lot of pressure behind it. If it had been any larger, I probably wouldn't be here wasting my life on 4chan.

If they've already got a license to show the N64, why not also get permission to use sound effects for Smash or some other existing multiplayer game? They might as well have used a "fake" console and controllers or something.

Med-fag here, all Arteries are under pressure and the Aorta as the biggest is under the most, but it is also very elastic to account for the sudden changes in volume between heartbeats.

If you get a puncture in an artery the blood will spurt out like >>84451368 described, depending on which artery and the size of the hole you could even see it spurting in rhythm with the heartbeat.
A wounded Aorta is always an emergency that without treatment will result 100% in death, how long this would take depends on the severity, a complete dissection results in almost instantaneous blackout from rapid bloodloss and death a few seconds later, a small puncture can take hours to even be noticed if the bleeding is only internal but if caught could potentially be corrected surgically.
