The movie was okay but I was disappointed because I thought it was gonna be more like a movie actually made in the 80s, more like The Driver and Vanishing Point, and that the character never spoke a word.
This is because I didn't read or watch almost anything about it before watching it, I just assumed stuff based on what people said about it. It was still good though but my ideas spoiled it.

Lot of fedora core and Reddit shit in here. I'll explain the appeal of Drive. Is it GOAT? No. Is it still a pretty good movie? Yes. Drive was really cool at the time it came out because it was more of an indie art house flick that somehow wiggled into the nationwide theater scene. It confused a lot of regular moviegoers, hyped up hipsters for being different kind of film in an era of Hollywood that is very bland, and at the same time created hipster movie critics that can not like a single aspect of the film just because it was an underground film that had success. It's the Radiohead of mocies. I personally enjoy it, but can see why others wouldn't. It's controversial, but again that's good in an environment that at the time wasn't really taking many chances.
