I've been thinking about how it could be done better, and what keeps coming to mind is the Arkham Asylum-esque free-flow style of combat but with guns. Y'know, like the one good scene in Batman V Superman.

Director Kurt Wimmer got so fucking KEKED during the making of this film

if you listen to the audio commentary you'll hear him complain about how the fight choreographer made gun kata very stilted and precise when the director, who thought this shit up, wanted it to be fluid like in the opening sequence. He eventually got what he wanted with Ultraviolet, but Equilibrium is forever cucked by a measly fight guy

they're both shit anyway, so dumb it's scary

The film is fine as long as you understand its just dumb fun, you just want to watch 1984 as a modern action film with a non ambiguous ending.

The issue is people who genuinely think the film is a lot better than it is.
