This is the best sci-fi in the 21st century, prove me wrong
>>84409632
Oh, I can't.
False
>>84409632
it's kinda garbage
>>84409632
FALSE. NASA PROPAGANDA.
They push "Relativity" so hard is quite pathetic. How many times must they try and explain Relativity to the stupid masses. It was so cringy to watch.
>>84409632
I liked this movie a lot.
>>84409632
Even Arrival is better than that shit
>>84409632
Her, Ex Machina, and Arrival are all better than this meme movie.
Children of Men is better though
>>84411639
I liked those 3 movies a lot too, especially Her. Just curious, what about interstellar did you not like?
I liked Arrival :)
>>84411664
>children of men
>sci fi
>>84411694
It started off as a somewhat realistic sci fi movie that actually took physics and such into account. But then it became about how love is the most powerful force in the universe, and the whole black hole scene was just over the top silly. It was almost worse than Doctor Who. The tone just felt really inconsistent, and I don't think you can just explain away all the silliness at the end of movie that didn't make sense just by saying "love is super powerful."
>>84411798
That's reasonable, I feel similar about the end. Was a big fan of the beginning and all the time stuff from the first planet though which still made me view it as good overall.
>>84411715
Explain how it isn't sci fi anon.
>>84411872
I loved that same stuff too. It was amazing, and I think that's what made the rest of the movie so disappointing.
>>84409632
It was a visually appealing movie but lacked everything else, not to discredit Matthew McConaughey's great performance. I couldn't even agree with you that it was Nolan's best movie, let alone the best in the sci-fi genre (of this century).
>>84409632
IT'S
>>84411639
>Ex Machina
anon, just get a gf, shave her head and wax it
>>84409632
Spielberg made two sci fi movies this decade better than Nolan's epic turd
>>84409632
All the early Earth could have been mostly just visual flashbacks with little to no dialogue. Would have cut a half hour off the film and we wouldn't have had to deal with that shit child actress.
Also the entire movie could have not happened, that would work too.
>>84409632
Beyond the Black Rainbow is prettier, less boring, and doesn't have an actor who looks distractingly like MC Ride.
>>84412890
>Beyond the Black Rainbow
>not boring
nah
>>84412929
That was mostly meant as a joke. BtBR is one of the slowest science-fiction movies made outside of Eastern Europe but Interstellar is just that boring to me.
I love it for the space porn
Fuck yall
most financially successful: Avameme
lmaos: Sector 9
apocalypse: Sunshine
space shit: Interstellar
Future shit: minority report
clones: moon
OVERALL:
TIE
EDGE OF TOMORROW
INCEPTIOÑ
FUCK ANYONE WHO DISAGREES
>>84412956
Arrival is great classical scifi that uses fantasy as a allegorical exploration of the human condition.
This is how scifi should be done.
>>84413581
yeah everything was amazing from a technical aspect, and with the ham fisted story provided the script was fcking A+++++, amazing pacing, great dialogue
But still the story really lacked
>>84413572
forgot to add
ROBOTS: EX MACHINA
Ex Machina, Arrival, Primer, Upstream Color (technically), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Her. If Interstellar's pacing and tone inconsistencies were fixed then I'd probably agree though.
>>84413959
primer is nowhere near the league of a major production
sure it gets point for resourcefulness but quit dickriding
it was good for what they had
be objective you cunt
the dialogue was meh
the acting was SHIT
>>84412857
>flashbacks
I actually rewatched this movie tonight because of a thread earlier calling it shit and I cried like a fucking child.
Like how can you not cry watching this movie? So many parts that feel fucking hopeless.
>>84409632
I cant. Youre correct
>>84412380
LOVE
>>84409632
Conservatives can't understand that film.
Wrong. Kubrick's Space Odyssey is better.
>>84417279

Even if you're making a titular pun, fuck you
