>$69 Million budget
>$56 Million box office domestic total
>$18 Million opening weekend
>Film rent was probably dropped dramatically each week in order to keep it on screens
>$80 Million overseas gross, where studios take even less of a share

They're probably nowhere near the actual production budget

>>84406091
He sounds so insecure

$140M isn't even a lot these days considering how much is involved in making a movie. I've already made 1% of that on my own by my mid-20's

>Buried in paperwork. Hollywood’s lack of profits exists only on paper, the result of creative accounting practices so institutionalized and infamous that a Wikipedia page on “Hollywood Accounting” includes the inside joke that Hollywood’s most creative minds are the accountants. Instead of cooking the books to hide losses and inflate profits, Hollywood accountants inflate costs to ensure that even smash hits stay in the red.

>The survival of these accounting practices may be the most magical thing about Hollywood. These situations - a writer scammed out of a 3% share of Hollywood’s biggest hits - must look like truffles to lawyers.

>One reason for Hollywood Accounting’s longevity may be the lack of financial transparency. Insiders describe the true costs behind any picture as practically unknowable and public production budgets a malleable fiction. Movies can also spend years in “development hell,” accumulating millions of dollars in costs as the studio rewrites the script and recasts the characters over and over. And profits really can take years to trickle in as only 20% of profits are made at the box office.

ITT: peopl who think they budgets that are reported are actual budgets

Film is the biggest public money laundering scheme. Everyone is getting paid from this film. Guaranteed.
>>
>>84406812
Exactly. Unless you're pulling in several hundreds of millions of dollars or even a billion dollars overseas like a Transformers movie or a Fast and Furious movie, you're getting absolute fuck-all back in revenue from the overseas markets.
The Fate of the Furious' budget was $250 million but it only made $225 million domestically. That would normally mean getting fucked but it didn't matter since the film literally made a billion dollars overseas because all the spics and huehues love those movies.
The problem with Baywatch was purely the budget. It was $70 million for a film that should have been somewhere around $40 million. There was a shit tonne of marketing for this movie as well so the total budget all up is probably somewhere around $200 million, possibly a bit more.
Compare it to something like 21 and 22 Jump Street, those were comedy action movies that were each made on a budget of $40 and $55 million but made $138 and $191 million domestically respectively (60% and 70% of their worldwide totals). Those movies are examples of actual successful comedy movies
Baywatch is a flop.
>>
>>84408076
Of course everyone gets paid, it doesn't mean the studio makes money though.

Not saying that Baywatch is not a flop becaue I care about box office as a means to know how many people went to see a movie rather than how much money the studio makes, but when it comes to international markets, the studio make a shitload of money from distribution deals. Much more than what they get from revenue.
