He's an okay writer and a good talker

But not a good filmmaker. Everything he's done is a ripoff of something, usually better, done by other directors decades ago. His style outside of the extremely schlocky/over-the-top bits is mostly flat static lighting and stageplay composition at a flat angle. He can seem pretty neat to people with no knowledge of movie history but he's really just a derivative.

Well opinions can be argued, and I don't see what you don't understand about what I've said. Kubrick, Tarkovsky, Lynch, Jodorowsky, Refn. These are all some directors off the top of my head who's films are focused on aesthetics over entertainment. Film is an art form, and it's art's duty to be aesthetic. If it's made for the pure purpose of indulgent entertainment then it's not art anymore, it's tripe, hence one of my earliest comments.

Until Basterds came out, it felt like he was making his movies backwards. With Kill Bill being his first hyper active feature with Resevoir Dogs being his distilled essence in celluloid. Directors/writers usually learn subtlety with age, but QT seemed to have it in the beginning but started to lose it for the sake of luster. I think he's starting to get it again with Hateful Eight, but I'm definitely interested in whatever he's up to.

His movies all are too long. They always manage to enagage me in the first half but then they never seem to wrap up. Tarantino stretches it to hell, trying to explain every little aspect of the movie and finish the story for every character. Too often it is completely clear what is about to happen but Tarantino still needs 30 mins to get to that point.
