Comic is better, The actor is too meek and too much of a nice guy, Good adaptation and some coll effects, Not a good film though.

It was as good an adaptation of the comics as I can ask for. Some of the evil exes had their roles cut down a little TOO much but that's understandable considering the limitations of film.

My only real problem was that they had Knives help Scott finish off Gideon instead of Ramona. I thought that made no sense, even considering the film was written before the final volume of the comic. On the other hand I really enjoyed how the Nega-Scott scene was handled because Nega-Scott in the comic was really stupid.

This is the core thesis point of the books and the movie doesn't really touch upon it. Scott is an asshole, so is Ramona, but by defeating Gideon they can forget about their past and move forward. Considering Gresham's Law, because the price of potato is declared by fiat, as long as it's higher than the actual market price of gold, it will fuck up the exchange rate between potatoes and wheat, which is still a popular crop AND will get out of the speculation shock in the long term.

It will take more wheat to buy potatoes and the government controls the price of those potatoes. This impoverishes the country but in this scenario the only other trade partner is apparently the one they're at war with so...

Also, the whole thing is a house of cards because the government doesn't control the amount of potatoes in the market, they couldn't deal with a low yield of potatos with a currency pegged to that commodity and the price of wheat rising through the sky

The problem with this movie is the main character. I belive that had they cast a different person as the lead, it would of been better received by the public.

They cast Michael Cera and that made people hate the movie instantly. Cera is so skinny and weird looking that nobody believes that he could get MEW. Plus, even if it's in his head, nobody believes that he could beat up any of the exs.
