Tim Russ brought a lot of depth to the 'emotionless Vulcan' character. He probably did the archetype more justice than any other actor playing a Vulcan in all of Trek.

Nimoy did a great job, but his Vulcan was 'half-human', which gave him a lot of wiggle-room with the character. Russ was all Vulcan, yet he still managed an engaging, nuanced performance.
