My friend told me a story from his grandfather who has an autograph from damn near every academy awards winner for best picture/ directo for the last century basically, and damn near every actor/director in general, sends hand written letters to their p.o. box or their agent and he has thousands that I've seen. One time he met Joe Pesci at some convention or something and asked for his autograph after telling how much he loved all of his character's (which he listed from memory) and even had a cup of coffee which Joe insisted he pay for. Then Joe walked him to his car and helped him in since the grandfather is on of the few people alive today with polio. Said that he was one of the nicest people he's ever met. He also met Pierce Brosnan and he wanted to charge $60 for an autograph and was a complete jerk so he told him to screw himself. It's usually the sensitive emotional wwll mannered types that can play the most reprehensible character like Tommy a la Goodfellas or Ledger as Joker, D.D. Lewis as The Butcher or Plainview etc.

Tl;dr Joe Pesci is a complete gentleman and Pierce Brosnan is an arrogant prick irl. Nice guys play great villains.
