Thoughts? Did you like it? Was it too edgy?

I thought it was enjoyable but not too great. James Mcavoy is a fantastic actor though, I'm glad he's getting some bigger roles. Also Imogen Poots or w.e is jaw droppingly gorgeous in this movie .

Yes actually, a lot darker than the film, and really goes into depth about the reasons about why he is so fucked up. If you like Irvine Welshes style, you'll like it.
It has the interesting narrative device of having the main narrative from Lennox's point of view, and occasionally digressing into the viewpoint of the tapeworm infesting his guts

They changed the ending to make it more palatable for people that don't read the books (I was actually quite disappointed by this).

Personally I think its worth reading for the sheer amount of stuff the film left out, finding out Bruce's reason for knowing the infamous "Beast" that was mentioned near the start of the film and much much more. As >>84322835 mentioned the book fleshes out Bruce (and his colleagues/friends) much more, making you feel more sympathetic towards him and his way of going about life. Top read and dirt cheap second hand.
