I was thinking about trying to show this movie to a friend and couldn't think of a single reason other then cultural for why he should see it. Do people who did not see this movie when they were kids find it enjoyable? Will younger generations actually watch the inevitable remake?

its pretty solid entertainment. I guess the gremlins are niggers
so its still topical
It's better than anything made today. Really impressive practical effects.

Its objectively really bad. Should be forgotten in the 80's and doesn't even deserve a remake

Milk duds

>Parents like, fuck it, it's PG
Scarred for life.

It's still pretty good. There's a hilarious Christmas monologue in there.
The sequel is vastly superior though.

The sequel works so damn well because the writers and director just decided to make fun of Hollywood sequels and break the fuck out of the fourth wall.
I didn't see it as a kid and i have literally never given a thought to them, and neither will anybody else who didn't see them back in the day.
