The exact opposite. Focus on small indie dramas. He actually is quite a decent actor. And he used to be very famous. Trying to throw him into cameos in blockbusters will be too obviously desperate and will look like he's washed up. Instead, work on a similar model to Robert Pattinson. Find up-and-coming indie directors and work with them for not that much. Do this for a few years until he has a really respectable new filmography and then push for a return to mainstream cinema.
Perfect for him would be getting Tarantino to cast him but unlikely to happen.

Her career shouldn't be suffering. She needs to escape her typecast as "Asian female badass" (I don't even know if this is still accurate). She needs to get attached to romcoms and family dramas. Hollywood should love her for the diversity points she brings, especially since there are pretty much no Asian actresses of any fame in the west other than her.
Alternatively, she could embrace her badass stereotype and try and get attached to a capeshit franchise. Depends on how many bridges she's burned
