I just love this thoroughly pessimistic western by an openly communistic director.

The absolutely devastating ending that doesn't spare a single one of the protagonists and where this time the antagonists and his goons ride into the sunset after slaughtering a whole town is much more realistic for a (spaghetti) western then a forced happy end.
