If it was analog it just wouldn't work at all. Something like a CRT screen works by literally scrolling across each row, line by line, and manually making each pixel on the screen display the appropriate colour. Timing is fundamental because you need to send in the right signal at the right time to make the right pixel the right colour. If you don't update the current colour setting it'll just keep setting pixels to that colours, so probably what you'd end up with it just large random blocks of colours from the top line of whatever the camera was reading.

Actually, Time Lords set up a morphogenic field that makes most life evolve into Time Lord shape, or close to it.

gave it a 6/10. It would probably have got 9/10 if:

- I hadn't been told by last week's trailer that it was Mondas
- the season trailer and press releases hasn't revealed John Simm was in it
- the Radio Times hadn't explained the time compression plot in quite a lot of detail in their preview

Bill's story was quite compelling, but since the whole thing was obviously structured around two quite major reveals, the fact that they ended up "revealing" stuff that much of the audience had already been told makes it a worse episode than it should gave been. I enjoyd the Monk trilogy more than this episode because each turn of the plot was a surprise.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL SPOILERS

Capaldi emergency lands the Tardis on Earth as the south pole has been invaded by Cybermen that left the ship to Mondas and then shifted the planet. The Master is behind the First Doctor's final battle.

Bradley as Hartnell and Capaldi team up to defeat Simm, which is why the First Doctor is absent for a while during Tenth Planet.

At the end of the episode, Bradley as Hartnell and Capaldi know they have to regenerate. Capaldi talks Bradley into saying goodbye to Susan...

Bradley and Capaldi visit Susan and the good she did with her life, and the influence she had on the Earth following the Dalek Invasion.

They then both return to their respective places and regenerate.

13th Doctor comes when Capaldi learns that he really is a good man, after all. Despite what happened to Bill, he knows he has to move on, that the good out weighs the bad.
