They all have conventional families on average; naturally a movie about an unconventional family is entertaining. Since they have similar values about family it's easier to connect with the characters. IE Christian cross wearing semi-spic car loving Dadass.

My personal least favorite is Fast and Furious but honestly the worst would have to be Alien because you have two great films that have such a well-known creature that every film after has to feature the same creature so there's literally nothing more you can do than choose a different location since they're not allowed to make new monsters
