Looking for themes in a Tarantino film is just tilting at windmills. He makes well crafted entertaining shlock with dialogue that is funny but bears no resemblance to anything a real person would ever say except for Quentin Tarantino.

One of the most tedious and irritating films I have ever seen.

Tarantino's films are an exercise in style, nothing more, nothing less.

They're entertaining but if you watched one you watched them all. I hope someday he'll make an actual great movie that isn't just selfmasturbatory and "cool"

I genuinely struggled through it. Even put myself through volume 2 just to see if it got better but nope. People rave about this film but I would rather watch a blank screen than watch it again, that's how much I disliked it.

Basically what everyone else said. He makes very good exploitation films. Also Volume 2 is better imo but that's because I'm more into Sergio Leone westerns than Kung fu movies

It's just Quentin re-shooting famous scenes from other movies with his little autism thrown in.
