Call me a retard but why is this movie called Dark Horse? Or otherwise how does the main character prove he's a Dark Horse or become a Dark Horse? Or does he not and that's the whole point?
(dark horse means someone who is not expected to succeed but succeeds anyway right?)

Look, retard, he fucking explains it in the movie to the girl. He is a dark horse of the family, he wasn't successful or good at much like his brother, so his dad gave him "dark horse" as an affectionate nickname. He took it to heart and turned into the douchey manchild you see when the movie begins.
