How about this - just use Spider-Man! Don't shove in some shitty B to D list tier character into a Spider-Man movie - aka one the most popular and recognizable characters of all time.

And while we are at it, maybe focus on making a good standalone Spider-Man movie - something which hasn't been done since 2004 - because I can tell you this much, Homecoming looks even worse than those 'Amazing Spider-Man' movies.
