Don't know if they'll be able to pull it off in the movie though.
Anyway, I think that in order to make something interesting in the comic book movies today, you need to go all the way with what made the source material stand out. And for Fantastic Four it's always been family dynamics

They honestly need to strike a deal similar to what they did with Sony for Spider-Man.

X-Men has always worked as their own solo thing. Fantastic Four could use the popularity of the MCU and the Cosmic Storylines they can do with the already established Universe the MCU has.

The MCU needs something after Infinity War. Secret Invasion with the Skrulls and then Galactus would fit perfectly. Maybe do Kang the Conqueror.

There you have the basis for a bunch of Avenger Team-Up movies, as well as introducing new fresh faces.

Doctor Doom most notably if they can make him good. A Villain with his own nation that becomes an anti-hero during the Secret Invasion plot.

Hell, they could just follow some of the plot from the Avengers Assemble animated series.
