It really is. For all the shit talking people did about the product placement, there's a pretty decent movie there.

It was a bit more serious than I expected, because I'm a fan of the original series, but once I got over that it's really cool.

I'm hoping that if it gets a sequel they do something with Bulk and Skull, their arc from bullies to upstanding members of the community was pretty awesome for a kids show. Although I don't know how that would fit with the story style of this Power Rangers incarnation. So maybe that's more wish inspired by my leftover nostalgia.

Also the actors are attractive (see OPs pic) and believable in their roles. I would watch this again.

Bulk and Skull save the world on more than one occasion and rallied the entire city of Angel Grove to fight back while the rangers had no powers. They even boosted their moral to out themselves as rangers and fight when they had given up.
That final arc of In Space having a climax with that scene moves me as a kid. The fat and skinny bullies from season 1 were now the bravest men on the planet.

The cast are OK, they fleshed out Zordon a bit and made him a character. Rita was quite threatening. Bit too much human drama and not enough Ranger stuff, but overall it was decent and has potential.

Personally, didn't like the zords, they should have had more power, their guns were all a bit pew pew. Also the megazord was too smooth, it didnt look like it was different pieces together, its a very bland design.

More ranger fighting, more weapons, some design tweaks and less teenage drama and you got a great franchise in the making.

Also get rid of the fucking shit soundtrack, with all the music in all the world, theres really no need for fucking Kanye Wests boring drawl.

The pink ranger was hot AF.

I feel like there was supposed to be zord training in there somewhere, but they had to cut it out. Instead they just kind of automatically know how to pilot them. Not a huge complaint, just felt kind of off to me

I didn't expect to like the film ans the characterd as much as I did. Good surprise.

The suits, zords, megazord and goldar were kinda shit and I hope they change the design for the sequels if there is any (they could explain that they were wearinf the ''old school'' armor and now they'll have more modern look). But since I actually liked the characters, I didn't mind too much.

The funny thing is this movie had a weird flip side of having a small budget.

Instead of just being dumb action throughout the movie they focused on developing the characters. And they are fantastic.

The worst part is once they "morph" the following scene of them against the puddies is great, but the Zords vs Goldar is trash.

I wish more movies would focus on the characters like this.

Honestly had they cut to black and rolled credits as the walked up in their suits I would've cheered.

This is one movie that I'm actually disappointed there won't be a sequel. Aside from the Krispy Kreme bits, the script considering the source material is quite good.

And those kids are great.
