The Soup Nazi was being harsh in general, too much so I'd say. And he was actually being nicer with Elaine! But ofcourse its Elaines fault in what transpired. She was warned, the ended up acting like a drunk teenager for comedic effect.

Also, what difference does it make that the recipe is out? I bet you can find a ton of Gordon Ramsey recipes about, but you can't just automatically make food as well as Gordon Ramsey, its IS a skill after all.
