So what's it going to be about?

Free-spirited adventurous captain Michelle Yeoh dies while on a mission to spread peace and prosperity through the galaxy.
Instead of promoting first officer Black Womyn to command, Star Fleet replaces Yeoh with a steely, militaristic FWM who clashes with his new first officer on the regular, and is always proved to be in the wrong with his harder approach to space politics?

I know you faggots will never believe me but I thought of and posted the basic premise for this series on this board years ago.

I had said they should have a series with Chow Yun Fat as an old wisened Captain that is always teaching life lessions to his young, brash first officer.
>>
My favorite part of space travel is the part where everyone sits in a sterile office environment and works on computers.

I hope they also beat the viewers over the head with basic morality issues without finding an interesting point to make.
The viewers also need to constantly be told how living beings and their cultures are wonderful and unique while being shown people and cultures that are all so similar that they lack character.

Star Trek is a better example of an office than The Office.

There was lots wrong with Voyager. The main cast mostly being dull as fuck no thanks to the guys in charge telling the writers to make the humans as dull as possible to somehow make the alien stuff more amazing by comparison is one of them. Even Kate Mulgrew couldn't figure out Janeway and deemed her to be bi-polar due to the writers not giving her a concrete character which is why she's constantly flip flopping on her morals throughout the series.

...so since since somebody out there is obviously picking up on my ideas I am going to post the other idea I had years ago:

Star Trek: Section 31.

Capt. Jellico leads the unit that handles the missions that the Federation either unable or unwilling to handle.

His young field Commander would always bend over backwards to handle the missions in a more humane manner than the orders given by the seemingly overly harsh, no nonsense Capt Jellico.

Thats another freebie Paramount. Take it and run with it.

He may have been "right" but had no real evidence besides circumstantial stuff nor did he have the authority to attack the Cardassians. he was also being clearly motivated by his emotions as his wife and son were killed by Cardassians during the war with them. His actions were still wrong even if Picard figured it out by the end of the episode the Cardassians were clearly setting up a strategic launch point for a future conflict with the Federation. It still doesn't give them the right to attack first and violate the peace treaty. That's why at the end of the episode he tells the Cardassian leader they'll be watching them as they're onto what they're doing now.

No he wasn't, everyone was just projecting that onto him as it was easier than admitting he was right and they were sending an innocent man to jail to cover up for aliens who were murdering their citizens.

>That's why at the end of the episode he tells the Cardassian leader they'll be watching them as they're onto what they're doing now.
Obviously they didn't though, as Sisko had no idea what the Cardassians were doing in The Maquis Part 1/2.

Oh man that era left open piles of possibilities. You have both the Cardassian and Romulan government going through a complete overhaul thanks to the Dominion War screwing over the Cardassians and Shinzon wiping out the entire Romulan senate in Nemesis leaving them both without any real leadership. Voyager, despite it being garbage left the Borg crippled with their main base in the Delta Quadrant destroyed along with their queen so they no longer have a guiding voice to control them.

Cardassia could become a post WWII Japan with them moving away from a militaristic society after it had brought them nothing but misery and the destruction of their cities and civilians killed by the millions to a more economic one seeing how they're best raw material processing and manufacturers in quadrant due to their lack of replicator technology. They could form some agreement with the Federation to allow them membership only if they become a main source for their ship building. They could be the top dogs when it comes to ship building.

Romulans would more than likely move away from their isolationist ways open up their boarders to make relations with the Federation even going as far as trying to unify with Vulcan and become one people again.

The Borg could be split into various factions. Some go off on their own to do their own thing, some want to reunify the collective and others wish to just get back to the lives they once had before assimilation.
>>
>>84153901
The Cardassians weren't attacking Federation planets after the peace treaty was signed. Maxwell just went off the deep end and just started attacking their shipment lines.

He knew what Starfleet's response would be, the same as Picard's: nothing.
>>
>>84154371
But there was no hard evidence to support that they were stock piling weapons. They only knew they had transport ships with dampening fields so they couldn't be scanned. Yes it gives the impression they're up to no good but without any real evidence it's all conjecture. Even when Picard asks for the proof from Maxwell all he does is fall back on is prejudice as his evidence.

It's a human saying this to a human, no an alien with telepathic powers that can know if the Cardassians are lying. This would have been a great episode for Troi's abilities to come into play seeing how the Cardassians knew what those ships were doing but that would just make Maxwell justified in his actions and remove the whole "we need to learn to trust each other" moral.
