Series 8 was GOAT from start to finish with two hiccups but the rest made up for it.

Series 9 was great except for the two Ashildr episode. I even liked Sleep No More.

Series 10 is a disgrace.

I disliked series 9 because it's essential example of "tell, don't show" series. Some may call it 'characterkino' but in fact it's just overly talky and sometimes just messy and shit (like Zygon episodes, or before the flood, or sleep no more, or the woman who lived, or 9x1)

Series 8 was good, Series 9 was all over the fucking place and really only Heaven Sent stood out and Season 10 is bland but consistent which is better in the long run. The Monk Trilogy lets it down a lot though.

World Enough and Time and the Doctor Falls are the sides of a same coin. The second part tells the story of what happens to the Doctor DURING World Enough and Time where we barely see him. The cliffhanger of WEAT isn't resolved immediately but 40 minutes into the episode.

I think Moffat hit his head or something around 2012. All of his writing before that (each episode he wrote for Series 1-4 and then all of Series 5 and the first half of Series 6, plus Series 1-2 of Sherlock) were fucking amazing, and then afterwards it was like he had the opposite of a midas touch. Series 3 of Sherlock was shit and Moffat should have known building up the payoff to that cliffhanger for two years without planning on actually explaining what happened while telling people it'd be explained in the first episode might piss a few people off. Then Series 6b was a mess, and then both halves of Series 7 save the finale (somehow the only time Moffat was able to write a decent finale) was shit too.

I haven't seen Sherlock Series 4 but I don't plan on watching it after what I've heard. Moff seemed to start writing better episodes from the 50th onward, maybe the anniversary lit a fire underneath him, who knows.
