The first season revolves around a conspiracy theory centered on a comic book that a bunch of nerds get their hands on. Turns out to be true and they all end up on the run while trying to unravel the central mystery of the comic books creator and what message he left in the books pages. It's not particularly well-acted except for 1 or 2 characters, but it's score and cinematography are excellent. Also though the first season doesn't tie up every loose end it tells it's story well and with a solid conclusion. S2 not so much.

Lady Dynamite > all the other netflix shows.
Its the best thing Mitch has been involved with since peak Arrested Development yet no one seemed to care. In part because Netflix are fucking terrible at advertising anything that isn't already established binge watch television. They simply didn't know how to market a show this odd which didn't surprise me, they're marketing for smaller shows is always awful. What I didn't expect is how foul mouthed it would be though, I'd say there's more use of the word cunt in Lady Dynamite than in any other show in recent memory. As a britbong it didn't phase me one bit but I hear most Americans are still touchy about that word so it may have turned them off.

If you're autistic it ends on a "cliffhanger", if you have common sense and can empathise and understand the characters then you know what happened next even if it wasn't explicitly shown.
But it was an amazing show, it just had the absolute worst marketing imaginable. The tv spots had actual terriers running around and stuff made people think the show was about dogs not private investigators

I don't think I've ever seen someone discuss this show outside of the Subway ad, but it's my ultimate guilty pleasure. It's about as campy and ridiculous as the original, but I love it to death.

Also Blue Bloods is better than almost every police procedural airing today.

It was the weirdest thing I think I ever watched on TV. Back when scifi tv took really huge risks and didn't mind offending, making mistakes, or bleeding the edge of exploitation and classic 70s b scifi horror style. It was such a big box of experimentation that though it often stumbled, it sometimes came close to genius. A show like this could never be made today.
