I started rewatching the show a few days ago to refresh my memory and there's one thing that confused me:
In the pilot when Pete calls Harry after finding Laura he says "She's dead, wrapped in plastic" like he already knew who it was even though he didn't open the plastic wrap, and Harry just hangs up, like he also already knew who it was. Why? When the cops turn her over and open the plastic Harry looks surprised to see it's Laura.

Why are people so in denial about the Audrey thing? They're legitimately almost spoonfeeding the viewer the info and a large portion of viewers are vehemently against it.

I think it's pretty obvious that we're being lead to believe, from Doc Hayward's words, that DoppelCoop raped an unconscious Audrey. If Annie was a factor, they would have implied it.

I think planting a "seed" in Twin Peaks was part of his plan, making it a garmonbozia hotbed for years to come. Hell, you can even imply that he impregnated Audrey with twins if you want to go really deep into it. (Richard and Linda, two birds with one stone)

Something can be both obvious and a stretch. You can see a plot point coming a mile away, but that plot point can still be really out there and ridiculous.

It can be explained how Coop managed to rape an IC patient in a public hospital to the point of climax and impregnate her, and there are clues laid in that direction, but it requires a stretch in suspension of disbelief.

Basically, Audrey having Dopple Cooper's rape baby is just not great writing, which is part of why people are reluctant to accept it. However, Lynch is not a great writer in general, so it's probably true.
