Yeah the autobots get more love, Barricade's fairly decent and Optimus gets some off-world screentime but aside from that the main focus is still on Marky Mark going from point A to B getting defended by Bumblebee and getting to point C in finding the Macguffin before purple eyes Prime comes in.

On paper this sounds like your standard TF movie from Bay, but the main problem is you have Crosshairs, Drift, the Dragon bot, all these Decepticons and in the end they're just there to fluff up the action pieces and nearly none of them would contribute to the plot in any way. I literally couldn't give less of a fuck about what critics think of Transformers movies. Or any movies for that matter, but specially these ones. The Transformers movie exist in a plane completely exempt from criticism, since they don't exist to be judged by their filmic orthodoxy but by a completely different set of qualities which only Michael Bay possesses. I adored these movies and I'm glad they keep coming out and still don't look like ANY other generic blockbuster out there, because they're much more than that.

I dont see it as something to be complimented when bare basic improvements are made after failing 4 times and being all but forced to improve if they want to continue to make money.
