Why is this so hated? The CGI is kind of bad and it's much sillier than the original, but it's by no means an awful movie.

I don't think it's actually hated though. Most people just see it as a big step down from the original one, which it is, but I haven't seen many people saying it's shit, except those who didn't like the first one anyway.
