No. How can a film 'pretend' to be anything? Did Resnais call it a masterpiece? A film is not pretentious because it's critically acclaimed, you can't call the film pretentious because of what people retroactively think of it.
It might not be a masterpiece technically or visually but the non-linear narrative is very well done and it deserves all the praise.
