Ok so all jokes aside, what really happened this season/this year?

>It was introduced that Gus was the chicken meth man and his trucks were used to import the drugs
- We already knew that
>It was introduced that Jimmies alias was Saul Goodman
- We already knew that
>Hector got a stroke because he was poisened by Nacho
- Ok this is new and is kinda interesting indeed
>Chuck died
- Finally

I know I probably get shit on and people are gonna spout memes that I dont think there is enough of explosions but how can you honestly defend this boring piece of crap?

I wanted to love it honestly I did. I loved every second of Breaking Bad, been hyping for this for 3 seasons but I finally gave up.

Jimmy really should have not cared about the old ladies falling out, this was season 3 and the transformation into Saul should be progressing even a little bit but i see almost no progress on that. Not that i dislike the show, i always watch it as soon as a new episode comes out and i have always been entertained but come on, they are stretching out the Jimmy stuff for too long.

I thought Jimmy would go nuclear after Chuck and/or Kim dies, and maybe he causes them, inadvertently by trying to be a good guy, when he could've gone dirty and no bad shit would've happened to him. Unless they somehow tie Chuck's suicide to it being Jimmy's fault, I don't see that happening, so it must be Kim's death that causes him to become Saul I guess. I mean there are traces of being scummy in him in this season too, like when he threatened the guy while picking up trash, but overall, Jimmy is still a fucking Saint, compared to Saul. Vince must have something amazing planned hopefully

>How many unnecessary explanations to bland background elements related to a popular tertiary character in my hit show can I make before I actually have to write some plot!

The flashback episode that's ultimate point was to explain his fucking pinky ring was the best example of this. this entire thing is a gigantic circle jerk for people that got way too obsessed over a decently written show about an average Joe becoming a crime lord.

In retrospect of this episode, I feel like something like this should be said: If you have any suicidal thoughts, I urge you to seek help.

It can't hurt to allow them to hear your story, and it could be that they have vital info that could help turn things around for you.

There could be room to transform things in ways you hadn't considered.

There is help.

Contact a suicide hotline if you need someone to talk to. If you have a friend in need of help, please encourage that person to contact a suicide hotline as well.

>season 4 opens with a shot of a charred skeleton wrapped in a space blanket
>>
>>84107492

Come on, there was a lot of story in between the first and last episodes. Jimmy and Kim fighting to make it on their own, especially with the Chuck conflict, was really interesting.

Last episode sucked ass though. I feel like they might get cancelled, and wanted everything in as nice a bow as possible. Hence:

-Hector has a medical episode
-Kim basically quits her job
-Jimmy gives back all the money
-Chuck dies

If there is no season 4, the only thing left unexplained is what happens to kim. The show can technically end without nagging loose ends.

I mean, Peter Gould said last night the S4 writer's room hasn't opened yet, and the show hasn't been renewed yet...

Saul always had a line he tried not to cross. He was visibly remorseful after pranking Hank with the phone call about Marie, and he was pissed that Walt made him poison a kid.

Making money off of criminals was okay but getting his own hands dirty and hurting people, like Chuck said, wasn't something he ever went out of his way to do.

I think the partnership per-se is not inheritable, but his stake/shares/whatever at the company are. They can just haircut HHM to HH.

I'd guess that, unless specifically stated otherwise in a last will, it would go his next of kin, which would be Jimmy.

Of course Chuck 1. knows it 2. is a colossal cunt, so I would expect him to make some random child in Zimbabwe inherit anything after him before Jimmy.

>season finale
>nothing happens until the cliffhanger
>episode rated 9.5 on imdb

Is this really what people want to see nowadays? Slow as shit dramas where hardly anything happens? Seriously, there are single episodes of Breaking Bad where more happens than an entire season of BCS.

Remember how LOST season finales were? Two or three episodes of constant thrills, feels and holy shit moments. Why can't television be like this again? I can't remember the last time I watched an episode of a series and thought "holy shit, I just have to see the next episode immediately", then proceed to look up message boards to see everyone's reaction to how awesome the episode was. Now I just go to /tv/ to see the posts about how nothing happened, and while I do find those threads amusing, it's really just sad.

Make TV great again.

Gus is a Don. He already has control.

Much of the season revolved around Nacho not liking the more brutal aspects of the cartel trade. It wouldn't make sense to continue now that there is an out.

The only story left there is taking out the rest of the Salamanca crew in the US until Tuco returns.

Gotta say I have very mixed feelings after watching this episode.

I really wanted Chuck to get his just deserts after trying to sue Howard and all the shit he put Jimmy through but now that he's gone I think its gonna guilt them both really hard. While his fate was mostly because of his own ego, I am somehow strangely sympathetic to his end.

I have a feeling the medication he was on is going to be a big deal.

Hell no, Chuck screwed Jimmy over several times and forced him to his current state. However the suicide was kinda sad to what was once such a renowned lawyer that everyone knew.

Actually now that you mentioned it, it kinda mirrors Chuck and Howard's relationship.

Chuck never trusted Jimmy enough to work with him, while Howard doesn't trust the current Chuck with his new decisions. Both wanted to regain the respect but neither were given a proper chance to redeem themselves.

The only people who actually know that for sure are Jimmy and the viewers. From Howard's perspective, Chuck was mentally ill and Jimmy gave him a fake confession to make him feel better. And he he still helped Chuck.
>He didn't drag out anything. In case you forgot, even Jimmy admitted it was all for his own ends.
Jimmy accused him of dragging it out and he deflected because he literally couldn't deny it

The whole Chuck - Howard dynamic is so badly written. I hate how Vince jumps around with high ground and keep giving it to the wrong characters.

Howard is basically firing the dude who founded the place because muh reasons, even though Chuck is healthy now. Yet for some reason we are given this scene where Howard is at the verge of tears and gives Chuck his own money (why again?) to retire even though the dude just wants to work.

There was no personal vendetta on Howard's side. Chuck was right about Jimmy.

Chuck was never right about Jimmy. Jimmy had his flaws but Chuck treated him like Satan himself. It was a witch hunt from the very beginning.
>Howard heard the tape of the confession and was there when he busted in to destroy it. He knows what happened.
The fact that Jimmy was angry that he was taped does not prove that what he said on the tape was genuine. Did you actually watch the bar hearing?

He was dragging it out. Jimmy and Howard both knew it was in the clients' best interest to settle early. Irene clearly didn't know any better.

nah this season's finale pretty much spoiled how their relationship is going to end (the part with the grannies). He's going to fuck up their relationship on purpose to save her in some way.

We see Jimmy get the ring from Marco.

The hand in his safe is from the commentary.

This. Chuck loved two, arguably three things:
- The arguable one: His ex-wife (who later on witnesses him go crazy in court, which is exactly what Chuck didn't want - with her witnessing his breakdown, Chuck completely alienates from her, but their relationship was, sadly, never really explored)
- Jimmy: his brother who he'd do almost anything for - note that all he did in the past three seasons was actually because he wanted to help Jimmy. When Jimmy destroys him and his career, he tries to convince himself that he hates him, but as we can see from his expression in the final episode, he sure as hell loves him.
- The law: Arguably his greatest love. Even with the ruined relationship between him and his brother, Chuck would still be able to live if he had been able to continue practicing his job as a lawyer. Who knows, perhaps he would even make peace with Jimmy later on.

All in all, I think Chuck was the best character in the show. He wasn't likeable, he was antagonistic, but delving deeper into his psyche, moral code and beliefs, you'll see an incredible character that was a bit held back by the not-the-best writers. They didn't know where to go with him, so I guess they just decided it was time to say goodbye and use his farewell for Jimmy's development as a person. He was also the best acted character in my mind.

Jimmy became Saul long before the start of the series. He'll never have a moral breakdown. He'll never change. Jimmy is the most morally static character and that's the point.

easier said than done, don't you think?
it was costing him 9 millions to "stop hanging around Chuck". He decided to pay him off when shit hit the fan hard, but it's not an easy call. Especially when you don't have the money.

Why did Chuck burn himself to death instead of just shooting himself or using an exit mask to go painlessly?

Yeah. People really seem to want Heisenberg-like character development (now you're Walt, but OH-OH(!!!!), now you're Heisenberg HA!), even though it's utterly fucking retarded. It's a nice pleb indicator.

I got a few questions lingering about Chuck's payment...
1) Will they drop that payment plot with Chuck's death? Technically Howard should still have to pay him off right? (the money going to whoever's on Chuck's will - in b4 it's Jimmy). But will they keep it in?

2) How in the hell was Howard planning to pay him off? He could BARELY get enough money for the first payment, he had to take loans for it... And he paid him off his pocket. Which means he probably has $0 ready for the second payment. We don't know what kind of timeframe we're talking about here, but how the hell will he get another 3 millions in time for the second payment, while also having to pay back loans (unless he wants to get even more)? Seems like he's putting himself in debts he'll never be able to climb back from.

The big question. What causes Jimmy to abandon his conscience? Chuck's speech was a set up for something that will inevitably happen.

How does he go from a somewhat remorseful con man to a completely amoral criminal lawyer?
>>
>>84115119
>Howard suicide
I can legitimately see this happening. Jimmy's actions are having a ripple effect. The burden of taking care of him destroys Kim. Then he destroys Chuck and his legal career. In destroying Chuck he also destroys HHM, which in turn destroys Howard.

Chuck was absolutely right. Jimmy just keeps hurting people.

why was chuck so mean to his brother?

are you guys serious?

Saul offers to get a random smalltime drug dealer shanked in prison to prevent him from talking to the cops, he also offers to physically/financially threaten a civilian for personal gains. And he has the numbers to a few hitmen, which probably means he actually used them (not the kind of things you ask just to put in your phone book for future reference).

What in the absolute hell has Jimmy done that is in any way comparable to that? He's a full blown criminal in BrBa.

In BCS he's some guy who hovers around the law. And the most morally despicable thing people reproach him is that he made an old woman cry.

what do you care solely about plot.

Last I checked this show specialized in quality character acting that can best be attributed to how real people would react in these situations, with morality being a key point?

When she crashed that car, everything was done at that point, the place they were staying, her rent, her career-breaking case, and everything that was good going.
On the flip coin Saul won in the sense of wealth but lost in the sense of morals. The reflection between the two was one of the most quality pieces of television I've watched.

It was never about the money for Chuck, it's unclear if he even took it (though he probably did). He just wanted to force Howard into letting him work.

Howard did the same thing to Chuck as what Kim did to him a few episodes ago: a "fuck-off" payment
>>
>>84115369
well it doesn't really matter if he wants it or not... Chuck is dead, and he owns half or close to half of HHM, how does that play out?

I'm going to guess it's kind of irrelevant at this point. Chuck is bought out, Howard owns HHM, that's that story done, really.

If Chuck is dead who inherits the money? I could see this being a big plot point for the next season. Hamlin doesn't want half of HHM going to Jimmy, and in his efforts destroys the entire company.
>>
>>84108609
what IS her fucking problem?
>>
>>84115119

I can't for the life of me believe that Chuck left Jimmy anything. He'd leave it to Howard before Jimmy.

The plot point next season could very well be if Chuck's death was a suicide or not. Howard and Jimmy would be implicated.
