Sure, but at the time it was groundbreaking. TOS fought racism and sexism in the 60's.
Also, TNG isn't that naive, some characters, like Picard, are very well written and aren't black and white.

Lately Star Trek has been doing better than Star Wars in terms of ST Beyond not being divisive as Ep 7 and R1.

So, how many new Star Wars films are out there? I don't get all this constant posting on Internet about films that aren't out. The last one I've seen was when Han Solo dies.
