His last movie bombed and there's reports coming out that he's not working well with the Star Wars committees on how the story should go. They're going to announce that he's not directing IX right before/after Comic-Con.

Disney realizes that they fucked up hiring him just like they fucked up hiring Josh Trank because both of them had good movies come out that made a lot of money and then their movies after that bombed.

She's 100% not a Kenobi. There would have to be at least one whole generation between Obi Wan and her and that is way too much to unpack in 2 movies. Not to mention it would completely butcher Obi Wan's characterization from the prequels and TCW.

The most likely option to me is that her parents were just two random people who realized she was force sensitive, tried to bring her to Luke, were pursued by Snoke and dropped her off on Jakku to try and lose the pursuit, and died offscreen.

Honestly I don't think so. they don't care if he sucks. JJ Abrams is worse than him and he was still granted TFA. The fact is that he can manage a blockbuster, it's the only thing that matters. Besides, it's the last installments, they don't care how it turns out, it's not meant to have a direct sequel. They'll start over something else with an new director afterwards.

In TCW they had a huge arc that essentially portrayed Obi Wan as the Jedi ideal when it comes to love and attachment while Anakin is obviously the opposite. I'd highly recommend the show if you haven't seen it, seasons 1-2 are hit or miss but 3-6 are great.
