Too deep for normies

That's a hard sci-fi movie. A dark and dystopian one at that. That's not very pulpy to catch onto pop culture and general audiences. It's grim future with the fear of authoritarianism is fantastic but not the pervasive fear of the country and society at that moment.

Compare that to Star Wars which is the Hero's Journey in it's best iteration to date.

I laughed few times during watching thinking what is going on and then watched it with commentary track.
What do you know it was really dry humor according to Lucas himself,it was intended to make people laugh but he was disappointed because because people didnt get the joke.
I say one of his best works.
