It had a very weird tone. It was comically dark at times and other times it was very "oh boys will be boys". Thematically this also jumped around with them being cynical and apathetic about the whole lifestyle and other times it was just a glorification and nothing more.

Did you guys see that there is a Korean remake. Its terrible. Chan Park Wook shows up in episode with the crew of The Handmaiden.

Season 4, I guess? Seasons 2-4 are the only ones worth watching. After that, they leaned hard into the fantasy fulfillment aspect of the show (which was always there, but it was more about the film industry). Then they realized people didn't want fantasy fulfillment, tried to make it more dramatic, and went full blown After School Special with Vince's drug addiction stuff.

the scenario is weak
vince wants to direct, he needs extra cash, the 20 yo beta son of the financier discovers that vince shags his oneitis, the son of the financier sulks, everybody talks at the end, vince has his cash and of course the movie is a hit... with drama earning an award....

there is also a cute liberal passage about the ginger where ''he must not behave like a chad in LA'' in taking two girls the same day, but it is okay that the girls want to be shagged casually.

of course, the ginger goes back to the mother of his child at the end


the photography is like every episode so far. the movie concludes the series just as you expected [happy ending]

honestly, the last episode of 5 was a decent end to the franchise...just treat the movie as icing on the cake and a 'reunion' episode on how the boys are doing

i think it went downhill with season 6 and " vince's drug addiction where they made it more 'darker' trying to insert actual tension into the show " the show worked best when it was a fluffy satire on hollywood, let other (better) shows handle " the dark side of fame "
