i don't know if it was weirder than the show. none of the quirkiness of the first two seasons is there except for the first ~30 minutes or so. the rest of the film is pretty heavy.

The first halfhour is good and expands the Twin Peaks world in an interesting way. Then there's the dumb scene with Cooper and Bowie and everything with Laura that follows it is a pointless prequel to the show, which was only interesting as unseen backstory.
