what separates good gore effects from bad in horror?

Good gore is when artists actually enjoy gore. Bad gore is when artists try to be maximum edgy faggots.
context and competent practical effects artists.
SAW and other modern movies like it, are just porn.
Every incident of gore is like "oh wow, look how edgy that was!".
The context and tension brought upon it. Green Room had "Gore" but does it tastefully that it comes off horrifying . Gore for the sake of blood and body counts is bad cause there is no impact. It's just mindless shit

unless it is some ridiculous 80s shit. like when the ED209 in robocop shoots up the corporate board.
I saw The Fly 2 when I was like 7 years old. That shit gave me nightmares.

It's very rare but sometimes good gore can really get under my skin.
I guess a lot can be context; cannibalism shit (Cannibal Holocaust for example) really unnerves me and that extends to a lot of zombie stuff too, although Shaun of the Dead is hilarious I get pretty uncomfortable whenDavid gets pulled through the window and ripped apart.
Fargo woodchipper is also a hilarious/disturbing example because it's brilliantly tasteful/tasteless at the same time.
