Explaining the emotions this movie evokes would be an spoiler but if you want it.

Yes it is very depressing, you are presented with characters whom you know to be cool and edgy and you spend the whole movie waiting for that cool momment when they get a power up or a deus ex or anything that will help them finally overcome their trial since this is a comic movie after all but it never comes, you just watch your heroes become senile and the edgy kid is not edgy at all, instead she has an actual personality, it's a great movie but it leaves a bitter taste watching the likes of Wolverine struggle like that.
