In literally the first episode of the original series, Andy talks to Lucy using a mobile phone without incident.

For some reason, they had to add in a joke about Lucy not understanding cell phones because they were too big of hacks to even watch the pilot episode of the original show. All for a dumb joke to showcase how LE OLD FASHIONED AND QUIRKY the residents of Twin Peaks are.

Can we talk about how perfectly executed the Black Lodge is in the final episode of the original run? The atmosphere, visuals, audio, and everything are all god-tier. The scenes with the Black Lodge in the new series have not been as effective or as entrancing -- can't pinpoint exactly why. But man. Those guitar swells, the flashing lights, the surreality -- wow.

I think the Black Lodge scenes in S3 are amazing so far. I just love how this insanely simple set can be so unsettling and scary. It's amazing to think that half of the final episode is just set in two empty rooms with curtains for walls and a black and white zig-zag pattern and it's the best thing ever. Peak creativity.

I just rewatched pic related. I forgot it was 2.5 hours, I would have guessed it was under 2.

Why did it look for a brief moment like Betty and Adam were having a love-at-first-sight moment? I understand it's all a dream, but why was this part of the dream? Perhaps just to feel like she was part of the love triangle and still relevant to Camilla?

What is up with the jitterbug contest? Why are the old couple standing with Betty in the intro? Did Diane really win it, or did someone named Betty?

It's Diane's dream. When she meets Adam in the dream both of them seem to recognize each other. It's not a look of love, it's a look of "where have I seen this person before". I don't know what's with the other two but the ashtray is focused on heavily and is meant to show that when Diane and Camilla are on the couch that that is before Diane goes to sleep and then wakes up. I honestly don't understand what you find confusing this season. It's been fairly straightforward so far, just the way it's presented has to make you think a bit and keep seperate the more visually weird stuff that Lynch likes to throw in bc he finds it intriguing (and what probably doesn't have anything to do with the story itself moving forward) and the plot elements. Once you get those elements, it's pretty clear what's going on (also we're only 6, almost 7 episodes in, we're not supposed to know everything yet, just be patient).

well, firstly they looked very similar to the scene of the car explosion (when one of the cops climps up the ladder to the roof to read the license plate number). what it means exactly, I can't say. secondly, bc of the lodge's involvement, Coop managed to show his boss that there's some sort of shit going on in the company (which is why the boss asked him to keep it to himself for now), which also helped Coop keep out of trouble and his job. so basically the Lodge is involved and maybe trying to give him hints that will take Coop closer to getting his marbles back.

Since Tibetan beliefs are often mentioned in the series, it's likely related to their concept of duality. the Doppelganger is one half of a greater unity. The Doppelganger is the "shadow" half of someone's whole soul and it appears BOB is possessing Cooper's doppelganger.

This seems to be different than what happened with Leland though, BOB was possessing Leland but it didn't seem to be his doppelganger. Otherwise, It doesn't make much sense how the doppelganger was able to come into terms with what he had done with Laura before Leland died.

the show itself doesn't really explain it that much, but I gather doppelCoop is not possessed by BOB, but can sort of join forces with him. so doppelCoop is his own person (as much as a doppelganger can be). I can't recall if Mark Frost's book went into it that much, he focused more on the 'alien' aspects of the story.

as for if all the doppelgangers are evil, I guess that's hard to judge since we haven't really seen the doppelganger of anyone who we can fully say is 'evil' (Laura and Coop certainly weren't, Leland is kind of a gray area, since I believe (and Lynch seems to suggest it in FWWM) that he did have sexual feelings for Laura, which doesn't make him evil ofc, but puts him into a different level + you have to remember BOB had been using him since he was young. The Arm's doppelganger is also hard to judge since I am not sure how they work for Lodge spirits and if we can even call the Arm good or bad or anything in between). also then you get into the area of who can truly be considered good or evil, so I can't really give you a good answer to that.

Dougie will not snap out of it until the key reaches the Great Northern and the FBI is alerted to its presence. Then they'll trace it back to Jade and then to Dougie.

At that point something will happen to snap Dougie out of it. Either Diane will do it or they'll take him along to catch DoppelCoop.
Might be that DoppelCoop needs to die for it to happen properly or they need to be in proximity of each other.

It is very notable that BOB didn't kill Dougie himself but is rather sending assassins to kill him in a roundabout way and also that Dougie is in Vegas rather than close-by. Could be that he can't be near him and has to have him killed remotely and indirectly.

My guess that the FBI is going to force them to meet and then another electric buzzing/garmonbozia vomiting effect will happen and Coop will be free.
