What exactly was he the Prince of? Why did no one in the town a few miles from his castle notice he'd been gone? They said he used to collect taxes, so evidently he used to play some kind of active role in their lives. And if he's a Prince, that means there is a King and/or Queen who is related to him. Why did they not notice he and his entire staff just vanished one day? Maybe they assumed he was dead, but then wouldn't someone inherit his seat in order to keep his part of the Kingdom running? Seems like a really flimsy system of government, to be honest.

That reminds me, why were they all in such a big hurry to be turned back into humans? The curse dictates that they would remain furniture unless the Beast found true love before the roses last petal fell, not that they would remain furniture for the rest of their natural lives. They were functionally immortal.

The curse erased the Prince, castle, and servants from everyone's mind. It also made the castle all shitty and decayed looking, IIRC.

I thought it was that they were slowly becoming normal furniture as time ran out
