I think Diane is going to meet Bad Coop, inform Albert and Gordon that it isn't the real Coop; the keys Jade posted will arrive at the Great Northern, Ben will either know those are Coop's keys or will look into the register to figure out whose they might have been; Hawk will read the secret pages from the bathroom and probably Ben will call him up to tell him about the keys. The arc will end with a big confrontation at Dougie's house, involving Hawk, Ike the Spike, Coop, and possibly Gordon, Albert, and Diane.

All of that feels entirely too straightforward for what the show has been so far though.
>>
>>84027566

It's great.

I voted for 12. I hope we him back during the middle arc or at least have the final arc with strong protagonist.
>>
>>84027587
The notes in the bathroom were Andy's notes and there is some stick stuff in them. They have nothing to do with Cooper.
>>
Anyone that doesn't like Dougie and still thinks he's there as comic relief is a brainlet that isn't picking up on the emotional undertones in his scenes quite possibly because they're autistic

>Rion Dylan Robert Faler These guys gobble up whatever Lynch does. As I've said, they're not Twin Peaks fans, they're Lynch fans. They don't care about what made the show appealing in the first place. They just want to see Lynch do weird things. They don't care about the characters.
>Rion Dylan Hoping James, Shelley, Ed, Norma, etc. finally have some scenes with substance. Where is their story?!
>Rion Dylan I've walked out of awful movies a third of the way through. You don't get to tell us how to think. The fact is, Lynch and Frost botched this revival. Our favourite TP characters aren't suddenly going to get storylines at this point. They're just glorified cameos.
>Rion Dylan Christopher Rossiter I really don't care about Cooper anymore. I want to see more of the Hurleys, Hornes, and Haywards. With substantial material. Not just cameos.
>Rion Dylan Steve Scarone Yep. And I hate it. I didn't wait 25 years to watch a bunch of new characters.
>Rion Dylan We're officially a third of the way through the season and I can't rate it higher than a C-. And even that's being generous.
>Rion Dylan Mattias Eriksson The lack of Twin Peaks characters. The ones who do appear, like Shelley, have nothing substantial to do.
>Rion Dylan At this point, I'm just blocking anyone who tries to defend or justify what Lynch has done. These people are Lynch fans, not Twin Peaks fans, so they don't understand the criticisms. And they refuse to listen. So...blocked.
>Rion Dylan Oskar Rickardsson I'll never understand how a Twin Peaks "fan" can like a Twin Peaks show that doesn't focus on TP characters. Still waiting on Audrey and Ed. I bet we won't see James again. What a waste.
>Rion Dylan The original characters are nothing but glorified cameos. What a waste. Madchen Amick deserves better.

the Twin Peaks Facebook page is fucking hilarious
>>
>>84027641
That's true. For 25 years Agent Cooper was in an insane realm with beings that talk backwards and in riddles. Of course that would fuck someone's mind up.
>>
>>84027587
The only thing I think is certain is that it will take an encounter with Diane for the real Coop to emerge.

>>
>>84027686
>These people are Lynch fans, not Twin Peaks fans, so they don't understand the criticisms.
I understand the criticisms, but like he's saying, they don't really phase me much because I was expecting and hoping for more Lynch, which is exactly what this is. Nobody should have been hoping for new Twin Peaks. David Lynch obviously wasn't going to return to doing Twin Peaks like it originally was after making Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire. And I think people are overestimating how good it would have been even if he did. It wouldn't have turned out good if they tried copying what they did 25 years ago.

I feel like the people complaining about season 3 only really enjoyed Twin Peaks on a very, very superficial level. They liked the way the town looked and the way the characters behaved along with coffee and cherry pie memes.
Season 3 is superficially different, so they all complain even though the undertones and general style are still the same.
>>

I liked the comedy stuff at the start, now I enjoy all of Dougie's scenes because of how sad they are. The actual Dougie clearly didn't give a fuck about his family. He went out gambling and fucking prostitutes instead of going to his son's birthday etc. All Sonny Jim wants is Dougie to spend time with him, except it's obvious that Dougie didn't and once Cooper gets his mind back he's probably going to leave too. It's all very tragic

I actually think the lyrics mean the opposite.

Retard coop will develop a great and happy life somehow, with the luck of the irish.

Then real coop will come back to a life of misery, old coops family will die as will most of old coops friends.

Then he'll look in the mirror and see his reflection with a tie on his head.

Alternatively Doppleganger will end up cutting his arm off freeing himself of Bob and real coop will end up in the Doppleganger's body but with both sets of memories, so he has to live with all that he did like Leland did at the end. Bonus ending being Dougie growing from the arm.

Thoughts on any of these?

Dougie is the embodiment of people who have problems and need help. Everyone else, is the average person. They don't care, its not worth the average person's time to bother with helping with someone clearly in distress. The only people who care about him are those who need something from him, maybe the one person who actually cares is his wife.

Jade only cared because she needed to get to her next client and needed to get Dougie out of her house of operation.

The casino only cared because he was some how just constantly winning and this hurt them deeply.

Those he works with only care because they need him to work. The assistants help him because they are more worried about their own jobs than Dougie, they fear he might react or their boss might reaction for not helping him.

The cop only cared about Dougie standing at the statue because its his job to enforce laws.

The black lodge has had a great effect on the world since Cooper has been gone, its turned people to apathy and its only going to get worse until BOB is stopped. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

Calling the agent a liar was Cooper, with help from the Black Lodge. That wasn't a typical Dougie moment.

Right, but even the random people he had met didnt seem to notice his "episode", the only one i can even think of is the lady at the change counter in the casino. The head of that casino was responding to dougie as if he was talking a big game. Also, that coffee guy kept reacting to dougie as if this behavior is unexpected, if dougie has had these episodes before, wouldnt that guy be more receptive to whats going on?

The whole point is that no one cares about him so long as he still maintains a minimal level of functionality. He solves the cases for work, so his boss is thrilled with him. Never mind that he scribbled all over them. He brings home hundreds of thousands of dollars and keeps going to work so his wife is fine with him.

It is hard for me to watch the characters just outright ignore Dougie's blatant problems as well but I think its all apart of the message. Its very subtle horror.

Season 3 of Twin Peaks has been the most disturbing thing I have experienced in media.

i like him and thiccfu as far as conventional 'acting' goes. the rest were obviously meticulously directed by Lynch to function as a dark satire of contemporary society, as well as providing a moment of ironic comedic dissonance

It's absolutely meant to be frustrating. There's a level of dramatic irony in that you understand the situation way more than anyone else does or even cares to, and then there's also the fact that you want him to get help to go back to being the character you know and love and you don't know if or when he is, because people either don't care, or they're old and not exceedingly competent anymore like Hawk.

Have these norms complaining about Twin Peaks and Lynch ever seen one of his other projects?

This is a lot more coherent than say Inland Empire or the second half of Mulholland Drive.

Also, didn't that guy from the Denny's in Mulholland Drive make a cameo in the Pilot? Sorry, I'm a bit behind being from Europe and all. Also, I think I've seen the room that said guy was sitting in before. I think it was in MD as well

This is the chair might be a reference to Lucy and her first ever dialogue in the original Twin Peaks, where she redirects a phone call to one of two tables.

But that's a reach. This is the chair more likely refers to one of the seats in the Black Lodge
>>
>>84030707
>This is the chair
I think this will be said by Linda's brother or something when she receives her electric wheelchair.
>>
Do we know much about the trees at the grove?
Should we read much into the fact the arm is turning into one?

Additionally, what do we know/theorise about their connection to electricity?

I'm not overly familiar to Lynch's works. Would he actually have a consistent and complete explanation for these things in his mind, and if he does should we expect to have these things revealed to us as well?
>>
Are women really as retarded as that chick that asked for a light then sat next to Horne?
>>
>>84029322
I don't know that Bob's doing anything but taking advantage of the situation. The wooden power poles they keep showing, the ones that sucked up the kid's soul and were in the trailer park where Desmond disappeared, that's probably what's spreading the lodge's influence. It's Ben and Catherine's fault selling space ghost cursed lumber around the country.
>>
>>84030941
We don't know much about the 12 sycamore trees except they're sycamore trees, they surround a strange material that smells like scorched engine oil and they appear to be dead.
I don't think the Arm is a tree, he looks more like a neuron to me. Which makes sense since there are electrical pulses on him.

Lynch won't provide a consistent and complete explanation, that's just not what he does. That's the beauty of what he does: unlike other 2deep4you hacks out there such as Lindelof who write stuff on the fly and try to stitch their shit together in a ridiculous fashion, Lynch is very meticulous, provides a clear base that is easily understood but spices it up with anomalies and gives you just enough clues for you to interpret his material the way you want. Just take a look at the many different interpretations of Eraserhead or Lost Highway.

Millennials

They crave a dreamy story that weaves their sheltered upbringing into a politically charged post-modernist narrative.

They have absolutely no idea why myth is such a vital pillar of story-telling, something both Lynch and Frost understand.

Hollywood is desperately trying to appeal to these people and will blame everyone but themselves if they fail. Lynch just refuses to toe the line.
>>
>>84029429
I see we're still throwing the word 'satire' around like fucking idiots.

This scene had echoes of the scene on the pilot, when Sarah realises Laura is dead and begins to shriek and cry in raw, naked grief. Grace Zabriskie and Lynch really crank it up to 11 in that scene, and Zabriskie herself has said that when she's attended screenings this scene has actually elicited laughter from some audience members. Some people just don't know what to do in the fave of pure, honest, agonising grief. Ever had the bizarre compulsion to laugh at a funeral? I have, and it's this that Lynch is tapping into again in this scene.

Well their parent's generation is also to blame.

Hollywood's writers are hired from American colleges that are controlled by screeching millenials. After 1968, the humanities fell completely to the left as that was the only way to keep them from administrative positions that actually matter.

Little regard was given to the fact that they would end up undermining the nat/sci field.

The constant pampering has shaped the millennial's expectations and it shows.

Of course there are outliers, namely those millennials growing up in provincial America. I wonder whether their dissociation from urban internationalist 'America' will ever get the opportunity to break the Liberal chokehold on Hollywood.

You don't need to be proven wrong. You hold a very fringe, ostracizing viewpoint and likely never express it in public to other people. I don't care what you bitch about on an anonymous website because your politically charged delusion doesn't have any meaning.

I know it, you know it, everyone knows it
Why is it that people always ask for sources for the obvious reality of liberal influence but you can make up any history to blame on puritan or catholic influence and people will just believe it
>>
>>84033129
Making any kind of implication that this large a part of society is being effected by anything in a major way requires you to back that shit up. Source your claims and then we can talk. And stop projecting so hard, i never said any of the things you just mentioned

Best summary I could find. A decent explanation of why the left has abandoned talking about weatlth and focusses on identity politics instead,

Sure tell yourself I'm not an adult. Quality argument.

>>84033106
Funny you say that. I often discuss this with others, local politicians for eample. There was a lot of criticism of the generation of 68, the betrayal of its ideals and its impact on child-rearing here in Germany.

Do you live in a country where public discourse is banned anon?
