Shut it, dirty plebs. One of the worst Wes movies, not a kino! A mere movie
Lovely film. Comfy, maudlin, really nails the feeling of young love, scouting.
So up its own ass it hurts. Absolutely terrible. Same goes for Budapest. Anderson has lost it.

>So up its own ass it hurts.
You probably think that sounded clever.

Every good artist eventually runs out of ideas and starts to just play around with the form. Wes went into that stage with Fox, but it's better than nothing I guess. Maybe one day he'll make a movie he actually gives a shit about again

kino
wes anderson is good

No, that applies to Zissou and Darjeeling, which were pretty empty films, with Fox, he was again energized, Moonrise as well, Budapest is a thoroughly inspired film and expertly realized.
>>84014390
Get the fuck out of here, Zissou, Darjeeling and Tenenbaums might as well be a trilogy. This is what peak artistic performance looks like. He's still very personal, but he's already a master. Bottle Rocket and Rushmore are even more personal, but he's not a master of the form yet, they're just not as good. And starting with Fox the personal touch is lost.

Just speaking my mind.
>>84014301
Yeah, his last few films have seemed like someone attempting to imitate him, rather than expressing anything genuine.
>>84014390
You're completely backwards.
>>84013958
which bird are you? No. I said
Which bird are you?
Its a good movie

Nah, Budapest might as well be his personal artistic manifesto. If you're not a student of cinema, and don't understand the historical context, i'd understand why it went over your head.
>>84014518
rushmore was literally his best work, less polish but twice the heart
>>84014646
Agreed, top tier for sure.
OP here, watched it last night and loved it, loved TGBH too.
