Agreed. For me that IS Doctor Who. Not whatever the fuck Series 9 and 10 have tried to do. Series 10 especially is terrible. No ambition whatsoever. Nothing surprised me. And believe me I spoiled Series 8 myself and the BBC spoiled Series 9 left and right but I still felt the ambition and it didn't ruin it, I was still surprised by the execution. This year? Oh the Doctor is keeping someone in a vault, must be Missy. Turns out it's literally Missy but it also literally is the way you expect it. Even the execution is lacking.
