Does /tv/ watch any ACTUAL kino or is this a board exclusively for shitposting? Post recommendation charts if possible.
Kino watchers are absolute faggots. Just stick with any mainstream entertainment that isn't Reddit-tier.
i just watch 90's comedies, family.

I come from /lit/. I can't sit through something that isn't meaningful in some way.
bbc four is kino
This board has a Game of Thrones general so yeah, it's pretty much reddit meets 9gag. Nuke when?

>Does /tv/ watch any ACTUAL kino or is this a board exclusively for shitposting?
Yes
>>84009374
I really really really like this list
>>84008751
the letter box general threads are usually the only discussion threads
>>84008751
i haven't watched a newly released movie in like three years but i still post about them on /tv/
Ignore that other garbage
>>84008751
The term kino is also shitposting, idiot.
>>84009374
Seems like this is a good list. I've seen a decent amount of these and enjoy them. But why is it "entry level hipster edition?" Actual hipsters don't have the patience to watch anything on this list. Hipsters say their favorite movie is Pulp Fiction and pay to see Guardians of the Galaxy several times.

Well I don't spend any time on this board so I didn't know whether or not the unfunny meme was a perversion of a preexisting term in use
>>84009781
It's a meme, they put entry level so you think obscure films are better than these, and most of them are not.
>>84009700
I have some more, this one is also good.
>>84009585
Most of those films are harmless anon.
>>84009957
The Sight and Sound one is also good.
>>84009957
>most of them are not
yes they are, watch more films.
>>84009096
Anyone know what the Asian film, Row 4, Column 5, is? Also Row 2, Column 7?
>>84010152
I watch a lot of obscure films, but most of them are not as good as the classics. It doesn't mean they are not good.
>>84009096
>edward penishands
>>84010428
you're watching the wrong 'obscure' films then.
Watch Marketa Lazarová
>>84010719
Wojciech Has, Miklos Jancsó, Victor Erice, Carlos Saura, Pedro Costa, Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Edgar Pêra, Guy Maddin, Glauber Rocha seem wrong to you?
can anyone recommend a few movies that would be a good starting point for exploring new german cinema or a chart or something?
the only relevant one i've seen was pic related
>>84010824
those are all good, but not amazing.
Try Parajanov, Tsai-Ming Liang, Piavoli, Duras, Kaul, Ruiz, Vlacil, Imamura, Svankmajer, Ilyenko, Abuladze, Kurahara, Huszarik, Straub-Huillet, Shinoda and Omirbayev
>>84011000
watch all of Herzog, Fassbinder, Wenders, Schroeter, Ottinger and Syberberg and watch The parallel street.
>>84011314
thanks, but that's a lot of films, my man. care to shorten it to a few for a start, since i don't have much free time on my hands these days?
>>84011413
>Herzog
Heart of glass
Aguirre
Even dwarfs started small
>Fassbinder
The bitter tears of Petra von Kant
Ali: fear eats the soul
World on a wire
>Wenders
Wings of desire
Paris/Texas
Alice in the cities
>Schroeter
The death of Maria Malibran
Palermo or Wolfsburg
>Ottinger
Ticket of no return
Taiga
>Syberberg:
Hitler: a film from Germany
The left handed woman, Young Torless and Class Relations are also good standalone New German Cinema films, but if I were you I would simply start with just watching everything by Herzog chronologically
